Gurgaon: A cab driver was allegedly pulled out of his vehicle and assaulted by two men, including an elderly person, on Sohna Road near Rajiv Chowk after a dispute over his driving turned violent.The assault, which took place in the middle of the road, caused a traffic snarl. The incident was caught on camera by a man in another car, and the video has since surfaced on social media. Police are yet to receive a formal complaint. Sources said the incident occurred on Sunday evening.The cab driver was travelling from Badshapur towards Rajiv Chowk when the altercation broke out. Visuals of the incident indicate he was driving dangerously and repeatedly cutting across vehicles, angering the occupants of another car travelling nearby, including the elderly man with his family.As the cab approached Rajiv Chowk underpass, the family’s car cut it off and confronted the driver. The confrontation quickly turned physical, with the two men pulling him out and assaulting him — the elderly man was seen repeatedly slapping and abusing him. Several onlookers, including a few who confronted the assailants, and a woman who stepped in to stop the fight, gathered at the spot.Meanwhile, another man, dressed in civilian clothes, got out of his car, put on a police cap, and walked up to the group. His intervention appeared to defuse the situation and helped free the cab driver from the assault.The crowd eventually asked the two men to leave, though the cab driver insisted on calling police to the spot.
