Ludhiana: MC commissioner Ojasvi Alankar has directed officials to expedite recovery of pending property tax. Residents have also been requested to avail 10% rebate on tax for the current financial year, 2026-27, by Sept 30.In a meeting held with zonal commissioners and superintendents, MC commissioner Alankar fixed daily targets for inspectors and superintendents concerned. It has been decided that review meetings will be held to expedite recovery on a daily basis and strict departmental action will be taken against officials who fail to achieve targets.To facilitate residents, the civic body has decided to keep its zonal suvidha kendras open on weekends too. Apart from working days, the suvidha kendras will remain open on Saturday (Sept 26) and Sunday (Sept 27) during working hours.To avoid long queues, residents can submit their pending property tax online by visiting the website of the civic body (mcludhiana.gov.in).
