Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man was convicted by a local court for inappropriate behaviour towards an 11-year-old girl and sentenced to five years in prison.In 2023, Musheerabad police received a complaint from the girl’s family alleging that their neighbour had behaved inappropriately with the minor. The man was arrested, and police later filed a chargesheet.According to the complaint, the accused would speak to the girl in an improper manner, pull her hair and tease her by holding her hands and legs. He would also allegedly approach her closely and make inappropriate comments about her clothes.Based on the statements of the victim and other eyewitnesses, the XII Additional Sessions Judge, Nampally, who handles cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, convicted the accused and sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment.
