New Delhi: An unidentified person allegedly robbed an 88-year-old man of Rs 80,000 outside his house in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh Wednesday. A case was registered and one accused has been held.The complainant, a resident of Shyam Vihar Phase 2, told police that he had gone to a bank near Najafgarh around 11 am to withdraw cash. He withdrew Rs 80,000 through a cheque and also submitted a requisition for a new cheque book, according to the complaint.He said he returned home in a minibus around noon. While he was waiting at the gate to enter, a man approached him, snatched his small bag and fled, said the victim.The bag is said to have contained Rs 80,000 in cash, a cheque book and other personal belongings. The complainant told police that due to his age, he was unable to chase the robber.The victim is the husband of “Dadi Ki Rasoi” fame influencer Vijay Nischal. The entire incident was caught on CCTV, police said.
