Bengaluru: Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) has identified 223 vehicles abandoned on roads, footpaths and other public spaces across its limits. Of them, 73 vehicles have already been served notices and subjected to mahazar proceedings as part of a special enforcement drive launched in coordination with traffic police.The drive is being carried out under the directions of Bengaluru development minister Krishna Byre Gowda and the guidance of BNCC commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar.Vidyaranyapura and Yelahanka divisions have completed mahazar proceedings for all identified vehicles. Pulakeshinagar has identified 59 abandoned vehicles and Sarvagnanagar 53, with proceedings still under way in both divisions. Hebbal has identified 57 vehicles, of which 21 have completed the initial process. In Byatarayanapura, six of the 15 identified vehicles have undergone mahazar, while nine were not found. In Dasarahalli, proceedings have been completed for four vehicles, while eight fall under BWCC limits and three could not be traced.BNCC has appealed to vehicle owners not to leave vehicles unattended on roadsides, footpaths or other public spaces and urged the public to cooperate with the ongoing drive.
