Kar blamed Trinamool-backed miscreants, saying Pramanik was a long-time party worker who had earlier been forced to leave home due to political friction. The SP said the situation was under control, with regular patrols in the area. Police have registered a case based on the family’s complaint, and several suspects have been detained for questioning.
