Hyderabad: Union minister G Kishan Reddy on Monday said the Telangana govt is reluctant to supply the agreed quota of rice to Food Corporation of India (FCI), accusing it of preferring to sell the produce to private operators.Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, Kishan claimed that the issue was not new and alleged that the state had failed to supply rice to the Centre over the past two years. He also accused the previous BRS govt of not supplying rice to FCI during its tenure.“The Congress govt creates an uproar over the rice procurement quota and demands that the Centre increase it, but it fails to supply the agreed quantity of rice,” he added. The Union minister also criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of disrupting Parliament. Referring to recent remarks by Priyanka Gandhi on paper leaks, Kishan alleged that it was ironic that chief minister A Revanth Reddy was demanding the resignation of a Union minister over the NEET row when Class 10 question papers were leaked in Telangana.
