Rythu Bharosa’s final tranche of ₹1,900cr to be released today

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy will release the final instalment of ₹1,900 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme at the Rythu Ashirvada Sabha in Chinthakani mandal on Thursday, completing the disbursal of ₹9,000 crore to farmers for the current season within nine days, deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said.Addressing a news conference in Khammam after reviewing arrangements for the public meeting, Bhatti said the Congress govt had accorded top priority to agriculture and farmers’ welfare since assuming office. He said the programme, to be attended by the CM and cabinet colleagues, would mark the completion of the season’s Rythu Bharosa payments.Claiming that the Congress govt had substantially increased spending on the farm sector, Bhatti said ₹35,839 crore had been released under the Rythu Bharosa scheme in the last two-and-a-half years, compared with ₹72,000 crore spent by the previous BRS govt over 10 years.He said the govt had spent ₹1,67,877 crore on agriculture and farmers during the same period through Rythu Bharosa, farm loan waiver, crop bonus, crop insurance, crop loss compensation, power subsidy, farm mechanisation, Atmiya Bharosa, Indiramma schemes, irrigation projects and other welfare programmes.
