Panaji: Alleging large-scale manipulation of the electoral roll in Fatorda constituency, GFP president Vijai Sardesai said that BJP is coercing govt officials to delete names of minority voters ahead of the coming assembly elections.Sardesai, who was speaking after participating in the Ami Goenche Rakhandar protest, said that he will ensure that govt officials involved in “vote chori” are suspended and terminated.“In my constituency, it is more than 10% and I am not irresponsibly saying this. I have proof and I will see to it that people responsible for this are taken to task, suspended and removed from govt service. In my constituency, 25% of the voters who were deleted re-qualify for voting rights as per the ECI rules,” said Sardesai.He said that BJP had no reason to defend and protect chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar unless Kumar was acting at the behest of BJP while deleting voters through the SIR process.“Why is BJP working so hard to protect Kumar? Is it because he is cheating and helping BJP? Why so much love for him? As proud and patriotic Indians, we are here to demand that Kumar must go,” said Sardesai. “The elections in Goa, which will be held in Feb or March, will be rigged. It is because of Kumar.”Sardesai said that while the opposition parties may be deliberating over “forming an alliance, asking for seat sharing” the result of the elections is being decided by BJP through the SIR.
