Kolkata: College union elections may be held in Bengal next year, chief minister Suvendu Adhikari indicated on Friday while speaking at an event in RG Kar Medical College & Hospital. “Vande Mataram will reverberate in college campuses once elections are held,” Adhikari said while pointing out that the TMC govt had not allowed student union elections for years.At the same event, the chief minister attacked “dimagi Naxals” of Jadavpur University, saying, “‘Kashmir maange azadi’ rings at JU rallies. Listen to me carefully… Syama Prasad Mookerjee sacrificed his life there. Kashmir belongs to us.” Adhikari said the Centre had allocated Rs 1,000 crore and the state govt Rs 3,000 crore for developing JU as a centre of excellence.
