Kolkata: Fire department officials issued an ultimatum to the authorities of the Camac Street building that houses Abhishek Banerjee’s office, warning of legal action if fire safety norms are not met.During a re-inspection on Friday, officials noted that none of the mandatory fire safety measures prescribed over a month ago for the 7th and 8th floors — where Banerjee’s office is located — have been implemented. Major deficiencies include inadequate fire suppression equipment, non-functional detection systems, and compromised emergency exit routes.Building authorities claimed despite repeated requests, rectification work commenced on Friday morning, coinciding with the fire department visit.
