Vasco: The foundation stone for the 20-bedded hospital project will be laid by chief minister Pramod Sawant on July 26 at Mormugao.An inspection of the proposed site was conducted on Monday by Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar in the presence of GSIDC officials. The hospital project will be developed on a 4,000sqm site and will feature advanced healthcare facilities, benefiting residents of Mormugao and the surrounding areas.“Having a hospital in Mormugao constituency is my dream, and it is going to be a reality very soon. The ceremony will be attended by health minister Vishwajit Rane, GSIDC chairman Michael Lobo, andother govt officials,” said Amonkar, adding that the project will create employment opportunities for locals.“A proposal to set up a petrol pump near Sada sub jail, which is presently closed after the shift of inmates to Colvale jail, is in the pipeline,” said Amonkar.The petrol pump will provide locals with easy access to fuel without having to travel to Vasco and also benefit heavy vehicles transporting consignments from Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), he said.
