Noida: A 36-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound on his chest inside his parked SUV in Greater Noida’s Delta 3 late Sunday night.A police team patrolling the area found a Scorpio N parked on the service lane with its taillights and headlights on around 10 pm. When the police approached the vehicle, they found both side windows open and a blood-soaked body in the driver’s seat. They rushed the man to a nearby hospital, but he had died by then.While cops recovered a .315-bore country-made pistol near the passenger-side window of the vehicle, they are yet to determine if it is a case of suicide.The victim, Souraj, a property dealer and resident of Migsun Green Society in Surajpur, had left home around 8.10 pm on Sunday, telling his family that he was going to Jagat Farm market to buy burgers. His wife, Savita, spoke to him around 10 pm, when he said he was on his way back.

Souraj’s father-in-law, Rammehar Baghel, claimed his son-in-law was murdered and demanded a thorough investigation. An FIR has been registered under BNS section 103(1) (murder) after the family submitted a complaint.According to family members, Souraj, originally from Jumrathpur village in Delhi, lived in a rented flat with his wife and their nine-month-old daughter. His body was recovered barely 500 metres from his residential society.DCP (Central Noida) Shailendra Singh said police were examining CCTV footage from nearby locations and probing every angle, adding that autopsy and forensic reports were awaited. Officials said the autopsy findings, ballistic examination of the weapon, forensic evidence and CCTV footage would be crucial in determining the sequence of events.
