Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced major decisions, including the release of 6,000 crore pending dues of the retired employees in 100 days, directed the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) to submit its report and assured that the health cards will be issued to all the employees by June 1. With the CM giving assurances on their major demands, govt employees and pensioners’ joint action committee has called off their proposed hunger strike on May 5 and other agitational programmes temporarily.Revanth gave these assurances at a meeting with govt employees’ JAC. The CM directed the PRC to submit its report as govt was ready to take a decision on the enhancement of salaries.Addressing the JAC leaders and members, Revanth responded positively to the proposal of issuing health cards to employees before June 1 and start the implementation of revised employee health scheme. Govt will disburse 6,000 crore towards the retirement benefits of employees. The decision regarding the prioritisation of how these funds would be utilised rests with employee unions. Also, deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka was told to study the opposition of employees to the contributory pension scheme (CPS) and examine the revival of old pension scheme.The CM told the JAC leaders and members that one of the important decisions taken by the Congress govt immediately after coming into office was the payment of salaries on the first of every month to the employees. The employee unions were given freedom to conduct their elections independently.He acknowledged the services of govt employees in the successful implementation of welfare and development programmes since Congress came to power in 2023. Govt also conducted the transfers of the teachers in a planned manner without confusion and chaos during the process, he told the JAC members.Highlighting that the Congress govt recruited 67,760 employees in different departments, the CM suggested the employee unions meet once every two months and submit a report to the govt regarding any issues or concerns. “This is a friendly govt and the responsibility of resolving your issues lies with us,” he added.Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka assured that there would be zero pending bills by June 2.
