Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has identified 500 acres of land in Sectors 13 and 14 for a proposed regional medical hub. Uttar Pradesh govt will soon send a proposal for the hub to the Centre, said a YEIDA official. The medical hub will include facilities such as super-speciality medical care, medical education and research centres, an AYUSH centre and other health infrastructure.“It is expected to boost economic growth and create jobs while developing world-class medical facilities,” said an official. The project follows the central govt’s plans to establish five regional medical hubs across the country. Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh had written a letter to chief minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking one such hub to be set up in Yamuna City near Noida Airport. “We made a request to the chief minister for a regional medical hub in the region and are grateful that the govt accepted our request and directed the authority to identify land for the project,” he said.According to officials, YEIDA’s project and planning department has begun preparing the proposal. Once finalised, it will be sent to the state govt, which will forward it to Centre for consideration under the regional medical hub scheme.
