Pune: A 24-year-old woman sustained injuries after a car allegedly rammed into the rear of their vehicle which had halted on Pune-Mumbai Expressway due to overheating.It occurred near Somatane exit last week while the woman and her friend were sitting inside the car. The woman’s friend lodged a complaint against the other car’s driver with Shirgaon police on Tuesday.An officer from Shirgaon police said the woman and her friend work with a private company. Last week, they had hired a self-drive car and were returning to Pune from Panvel. They halted the car when they reached Somatane exit around 4.30 pm, as it had overheated.“The duo were sitting inside the car with its parking lights on when another car rammed into the rear of their vehicle. The woman sustained injuries to her face and shoulder. The complainant and the accused escaped unhurt, while the rented car was damaged,” the officer said.“The woman’s friend came to the police station on Tuesday and lodged a complaint. We are investigating further,” the officer added.
