Pune: A scooter rider in the city has been charged with obstructing a police constable in performing his duty by parking the two-wheeler in front of a police van being used to visit Navaratra pandals for checks on security arrangements. The incident took place in Wagholi on Saturday night.The scooter rider, who claims to be a social media influencer, was arrested and sent to judicial custody.Wagholi police registered the case against the scooter rider from Kolwadi near Wagholi.Police said the incident took place near Jogeshwari School on Kesnand Road around 8.15pm. Whilst police personnel were visiting Navaratra pandals to check on security arrangements, the rider allegedly parked his scooter in front of the police vehicle, blocking its path. The complaint stated that he also spoke rudely to the police personnel and “behaved arrogantly”.
