Ahmedabad: The office of the assistant director of employment, Ahmedabad, has announced a special residential training programme under the Swami Vivekananda Pre-Defence Training Scheme for male candidates aspiring to join the armed forces.This initiative is aimed at increasing the representation of Gujarat’s youth in the Army, Air Force, Navy, paramilitary forces and police services. Eligible candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards, including a minimum height of 168cm, weight of 50kg and chest measurement of 77-82cm. Applicants should have passed Classes X or XII and fall within the age group of 17.5 to 22 years.Selected candidates will undergo an intensive 30-day residential training programme designed to enhance physical fitness, mental preparedness and readiness for written exams. The training, including accommodation and meals, will be provided for free.Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will also receive a stipend as per govt norms.Interested and eligible candidates from Ahmedabad district are required to visit the office of the assistant director of employment in person during working days. The office is located on the first floor of Block-A of the Bahumali Bhavan near Giridhar Nagar Bridge in Shahibaug.
