Thieves target two homes, decamp with ₹3.5 lakh & gold
In one of the cases in Sector 38, Magna Gupta reported that ₹2.5 lakh in cash went missing from an almirah inside her house while she was out of town for a few days

Chandigarh: Unidentified miscreants targeted two residences in Chandigarh, decamping with ₹3.5 lakh in cash, gold jewellery, and five mobile phones, police said on Friday.In the first incident at Raipur Khurd village, burglars broke into the house of local resident Kanhaiya Kumar on Thursday, stealing ₹1 lakh in cash, a pair of gold earrings, and five mobile phones.Kumar alerted the police control room, following which a team from the Mauli Jagran police station inspected the scene and began scanning local CCTV footage to identify the suspects.In the second case in Sector 38, Magna Gupta reported that ₹2.5 lakh in cash went missing from an almirah inside her house while she was out of town for a few days.Gupta discovered the theft upon returning on Thursday, noting that the almirah was unlocked and there were no signs of forced entry into the premises.Sector 39 police station personnel visited the spot, recorded her statement, and launched an investigation.Police have registered separate cases for both incidents and stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
