SIR-2026 roll revision in Mohali to be held from June 25 to July 24

Mohali: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls will be held from June 25 to July 24, deputy commissioner-cum-district election officer Komal Mittal said while chairing a meeting of booth level agents (BLAs) of recognised political parties Tuesday. The meeting, convened as per Election Commission directives, reviewed preparedness and coordination for the exercise.Mittal said booth level officers (BLOs) would carry out door-to-door visits during the month-long drive to collect and verify voter details through Enumeration Forms to keep rolls accurate, updated and inclusive.Urging cooperation, she asked BLA-1 and BLA-2 representatives to work closely with BLOs in their polling areas to ensure smooth and timely completion. She added that nearly 69% of voter mapping in the district has been completed, and support in slower areas would help speed up the remaining work.Mittal also briefed participants on the process of identifying Absent, Shifted and Dead (ASD) electors to maintain error-free rolls. On voter facilitation, she said the ECINet portal now offers a “Book a Call” feature for queries with responses within 24 hours, and encouraged citizens to use the 1950 helpline. She added that grievance redressal cells have been set up at district and assembly levels for prompt disposal of complaints.Assuring transparency, Mittal said the administration is committed to conducting SIR-2026 in a fair, inclusive and efficient manner, with all arrangements in place.
