CM Mann flags off anti-drug bike rally from Chappar Chiri

Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday flagged off a bikers’ rally from Chappar Chiri in Mohali to cover all 23 districts as part of the final phase of the state govt’s anti-drug campaign, Yudh Nashean Virudh.The rally will carry suggestion boxes for public feedback and complaint boxes for reporting drug traffickers. Mann urged young people to shun drugs and embrace education and sports, while blaming previous BJP, Akali and Congress govts for spreading drugs and diminishing Punjab’s glory.In a post on X, Mann said the fight against drugs was not just the responsibility of the govt or police but required the collective participation of Punjabis.“The ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ cannot be won by the govt alone and requires the united strength of every Punjabi,” he said, urging people from all walks of life to join the campaign.Mann said the rally would take the anti-drug message to villages, towns and communities across Punjab. A dedicated vehicle would accompany the bikers to collect public feedback and suggestions on the welfare and development of the state.He said the complaint box would allow people to report drug traffickers or share information about them. The campaign would also raise awareness about drug abuse and encourage affected people to seek treatment.“The participating bikers are ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign,” Mann said.
