Lucknow: To assess the ground situation in flood-affected areas of the state capital, urban development minister Arvind Kumar Sharma inspected the Faizullaganj-Daud Nagar area.He met affected families and distributed relief materials. The minister directed the officials concerned to provide immediate assistance to those affected and ensure that there was no negligence in relief and rescue operations. He also asked them to continuously monitor the situation and address residents’ grievances on priority.The minister visited relief camps set up for flood-affected people and reviewed the facilities and medical arrangements available there. He directed the health department team and other officials concerned to ensure the availability of essential medicines, adequate medical facilities and healthcare services at the camps. He also stressed the need to maintain cleanliness in affected areas and take necessary measures to prevent diseases caused by waterlogging.Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar and officials from the municipal corporation and other concerned departments were present during the inspection.
