Rajkot: Rajkot District and Sessions Court received a bomb threat email on Tuesday, prompting security agencies to rush to the court premises. The threatening email, sent in the name of Khalistan, targeted not only the Rajkot district court but also the email ID of the Rajkot Bar Association. The email threatened a bomb blast at the Rajkot district court at 3.11pm and warned of a drone attack.Around 10.03 am on Tuesday, a threatening message was sent from an email ID named “khady ngom” to the official email addresses of the Rajkot district court and the Rajkot Bar Association. At the end of the message, the names of individuals and organisations claiming to be associated with Khalistani organisations were also mentioned.Apart from threatening to target the Rajkot district court, the email warned of attacks using drone-borne IEDs along the route from Vadinar Port to Nayara Refinery and from Sikka Port to Jamnagar. It also threatened to target industrial areas, including those in Jamnagar.The email further threatened bomb blasts at 4.11pm on Sep 15 and 16 at Mahatma Mandir and other locations. Referring to drone attacks used in Ukraine, the email threatened to target ports and refineries in Gujarat using drones. It also mentioned plans to hoist the Khalistan flag.Rajkot city special operations group, along with the bomb squad and dog squad, conducted a thorough search of the court premises but found nothing suspicious.
