Fortunately, no one was present below when the parapet gave way.Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, DM Vishakh G and joint commissioner of police Babloo Kumar visited the site to oversee the rescue work. Pathak said the fire broke out on the fourth floor due to short-circuit. “PWD will be asked to conduct a structural assessment of the building,” Pathak told reporters.“The collapse of the parapet wall is a matter of concern. PWD will be asked to examine the structure. If the building is found to be structurally unsafe or dilapidated, appropriate action and alternatives will be considered,” Pathak added.
