Pune: The district administration has set up an Industry Grievance Redressal Cell and Maitri Cell at the collectorate to address pending permissions, infrastructure-related issues and other administrative problems faced by industries. The move comes as Pune’s industrial belt continues to deal with issues involving multiple govt departments. Companies and industrial associations often have to make repeated follow-ups with individual offices. The first review meeting of the cell was held on Wednesday under district collector Jitendra Dudi. Officials of various departments and industry representatives attended it.Around 134 grievances are currently pending across departments, with 109 complaints regarding the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, followed by 13 cases with the legal metrology department, six with state excise department, three with energy department, two with the Directorate of Industries and one with the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health. “The administration plans to classify the grievances as per departments and forward these to the authorities concerned, while tracking the action taken on each case at the district level,” Dudi said in a statement.Under the Maitri Cell, a review meeting will be held every fortnight. Separately, a special meeting will be held at the collector’s office on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Entrepreneurs and representatives of industrial associations can directly raise their issues before officials of the departments concerned there. The administration will take up the cases with the relevant department and review their progress. The district administration said the mechanism is intended to provide industries with a single-point coordination facility, rather than requiring them to approach multiple departments. Dudi has urged industrial associations across Pune district to use the facility and submit issues faced by their members.
