Jalandhar: Punjab BJP president Kewal Dhillon and Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Wednesday targeted the AAP govt over alleged “cash-for-transfers”.Dhillon, citing contentions made by the ED in a report submitted to the Punjab and Haryana high court, alleged that a transfer-and-posting racket involving IAS and IPS officers was being run under political patronage. He described it as a “mandi” for postings and claimed the ED had written to Punjab Police seven times seeking registration of an FIR, but none had been registered.Dhillon also cited allegations in the ED report of confidential document leaks, arms licences being facilitated for money, tender manipulation and irregularities in land deals. He demanded a CBI probe and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s resignation.Warring accused the ED of delaying action in the alleged “cash-for-transfers” cases and asked why it had not summoned and questioned those against whom it was seeking FIRs.He alleged the ED appeared to be playing a “fixed match” with Punjab Police and questioned why it was sending letters to the DGP instead of publicly stating the facts.Warring alleged an AAP-BJP understanding was influencing the handling of the Punjab case, claiming AAP was helping BJP divide anti-BJP votes in Gujarat and Goa in return for BJP allegedly helping it in Punjab. “Whom are you trying to fool?” he asked.He also asked, “Is the ED facilitating a cover-up?”
