Bengaluru: Beauty and fashion retailer Nykaa will acquire a 51% stake in premium skincare brand Aminu for up to Rs 32 crore, as its consolidated net profit more than tripled in the June quarter on the back of strong growth across its beauty and fashion businesses.Net profit rose to Rs 79.8 crore from Rs 24.5 crore a year earlier. Total income increased 29% to Rs 2,791 crore, while revenue from operations stood at Rs 2,782 crore.Founded in 2019 by Prachi Bhandari and Aman Mohunta, Aminu develops science-backed premium skincare products. The bootstrapped company reported revenue of Rs 19 crore in FY26 after growing eight-fold over the past three years and is already profitable. The founders will continue to lead the business. Nykaa plans to acquire the remaining 49% stake over the next few years, with the first phase of the transaction expected to close in the Sept quarter.“Aminu’s premium positioning, loyal following and genuine R&D depth make it more than an acquisition; it’s a capability addition to our ecosystem,” said Adwaita Nayar, co-founder and CEO of House of Nykaa.Separately, the company said its one-hour delivery service, Nykaa Now, has reached “critical mass” in the major cities where it operates without affecting margins.Speaking on an analyst call, the management said customers using Nykaa Now are shopping more frequently, while average order values remain broadly in line with those on the main platform. Across the beauty business, average order value rose 5% to Rs 2,102 during the June quarter from Rs 2,009 a year earlier. While point-to-point deliveries carry higher fulfilment costs, Nykaa said these have largely been offset by higher purchase frequency and incremental demand. The service is also expanding the company’s presence in lower-priced personal care categories such as face washes, cleansers and bath gels, where it has historically had a smaller share.Nykaa Now currently operates in 13 cities, offering delivery of products from more than 1,000 brands within 30 to 60 minutes. The company plans to expand the service to more than 25 cities by the end of FY27.During the quarter, Nykaa’s beauty business reported a 29% increase in net sales value to Rs 2,371 crore, while fashion net sales value surged 54% to Rs 451 crore. The fashion business also turned operating-margin positive at 0.1%, compared with a negative 6.2% a year earlier.
