Nitin Nabin unveils ‘Seva Sankalp Trophy’ ahead of  Divyang T20 tournament

Varanasi: The ‘Seva Sankalp Trophy’ for the T-20 National Divyang Cricket Tournament in Varanasi was unveiled on Thursday, as part of the Seva Sankalp Month being organised by the BJP to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public office and governance. BJP national president Nitin Nabin unveiled the trophy in the presence of BJP state chief Pankaj Chaudhary.The tournament will begin on Friday, with organisers yet to announce the full schedule.Addressing the gathering, Nabin said disability lies in the mind, not in the body, and that differently-abled persons are second to none. He said that with the right opportunities and platform, they can showcase their talent and make their mark in the country and across the world.Nabin said the central and state govts are working to bring differently-abled persons into the mainstream and help them move forward. He added that efforts would also be made to increase the participation of differently-abled sportspersons in sports and provide them with better opportunities.“Differently-abled players, through their hard work and talent, are setting new examples for society,” he said. Such events, he added, would not only provide recognition to their talent but also promote a positive and inclusive mindset in society.Organising committee president Siddharth Singh said the national tournament in Varanasi aims to boost the morale of differently-abled players, instil new hope and confidence in them, and convey the message of an inclusive India through sports.He said differently-abled cricket teams from various states would participate in the tournament. The gathering of national-level players in Varanasi, he added, would also convey a new message through the event.All India Divyang Cricket Association president Dr Uttam Ojha briefed Nabin on the tournament’s overall plan and preparations.Ojha said differently-abled cricket teams from various states would take part in the national competition. The tournament will provide players with a strong platform to showcase their cricketing talent and gain recognition at the national level. He also shared details of the preparations, team participation and objectives of the tournament.
