Ghaziabad: The 80km stretch of Delhi-Meerut Expressway from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut is set to get wayside amenities, including vehicle servicing and puncture repair facilities, every 25 km on both its carriageways.NHAI, which is planning a network of wayside amenities along major highways and expressways, recently asked National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) to conduct surveys for the project.“A tentative survey was undertaken along DME, and it was decided that wayside amenities should be developed every 25 km on both sides of the expressway corridor,” an NHLML official said. The move is intended to reduce vehicle downtime, enhance road safety, and ensure quicker support during breakdowns and emergency situations. As per the plan, NHLML is to develop modern wayside amenities on a long-term lease basis under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
