Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued letters of intent to 25 companies to set up industrial units near Noida airport, paving the way for Rs 3,155 crore in investment across nearly 95 acres. The projects are expected to generate more than 9,000 jobs, bringing a major employment boost to the region as industries expand around the airport.The proposed units span automobile manufacturing, electronics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, printing and packaging, handicrafts and apparel. Officials said the demand for industrial plots in Yamuna City has risen considerably since Noida International Airport began operations on June 15.YEIDA CEO RK Singh said 11 companies would set up units in Sector 8D, eight in Sector 29, three in Sector 24, two in Sector 6 and one in Sector 28. The projects will be located in designated industrial areas, including Apparel Park, Handicraft Park, Medical Devices Park and Pharma Park.Gainwell Commosales has proposed the biggest investment — Rs 497 crore — for an integrated engineering and manufacturing project on 20 acres of mixed-use land. It is expected to create 850 jobs.Multitex Filteration Engineers plans to invest Rs 282 crore in a heavy fabrication unit on five acres, generating an estimated 350 jobs. Cyno Lifesciences has proposed a Rs 206 crore drugs and medicines manufacturing unit on 2.5 acres, expected to employ 150 people.The latest proposals add to YEIDA’s wider industrial development push. The authority has allotted 1,122 industrial plots so far. Possession has been handed over for 118, lease deeds executed for 63 and building plans approved for 62. Fifteen entrepreneurs have begun operations, while 12 units have registered under the Factories Act.
