The students along with their teachers participated in various sports and group events to mark the celebrations of the National Sports Day.In the SCD Govt College, around 250 students participated in various sports events organised by the NSS unit of the college.The students along with the college authorities paid tribute to Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player.In the Khalsa college for women, the students also celebrated the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand. They were enlightened about his inspiring biography, dedication, discipline and contribution to the field of hockey.The sports day celebration at the college aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of sports, physical fitness, discipline and sportsmanship.In the Govt College for Girls, the physical education and sports departments of the college in collaboration with NCC unit, also celebrated the National Sports Day. Various sports competitions for different sports disciplines were organised at the college, including cricket match, tug of war, 50 meters, 100 meters and 200 meters races, and netball tournament as well. This year, the theme of the national sports day in the college was ‘One Hour in the Field’.
