Rajkot: A lion tracker sustained minor injuries after being attacked by a lion near Bagasara town in Amreli district on Wednesday.The tracker, Mahesh Matiya, was called to a cotton farm after labourers saw the big cat and panicked.Speaking to mediapersons from the hospital where he was admitted, Matiya recounted the the circumstances that led to the encounter.“I went there to chase the lion away. It lion was irritated because of the high temperature and the crowd that had gathered. There was no way for the lion to get away,” Matiya said.According to Matiya, the agitated animal lashed out briefly before fleeing. “It just caused a minor injury and went away,” he added.
