Jind royal family members, officials named in land grab FIR

Jind: Members of the erstwhile Jind royal family, a municipal council official and revenue official have been booked in a land fraud case following allegations of tampering with digital land records and attempting to grab a disputed property in the city. The FIR was registered by Jind City police on a complaint filed by advocate Abhimanyu Chaudhary, who alleged that around 10 acres of family-owned land on Apollo Road was targeted through forged documents and manipulated revenue records. Among those named in the case are Rani Inderjeet Kaur, her daughter-in-law Harsimran Kaur, municipal council secretary Sumit Dahiya, a patwari and a contractor identified as Subhash. In his complaint, Chaudhary claimed that the accused conspired to take over the property and made two attempts to get the land registered through the tehsil office using allegedly forged documents. He further alleged large-scale manipulation of digital land records and cadastral maps.According to the complaint, the land was purchased by his grandfather, Baldev Singh, in 1965 and has since remained in the family’s possession. The current co-owners include Abhimanyu, his mother Sudha Chaudhary, a retired labour commissioner, and his brother Abhijeet Singh. The lawyer alleged that a review of property IDs and digital revenue records on the Haryana government’s portal revealed discrepancies. He claimed the original khasra number of the family’s land, 65/58, was replaced with 65/13 in digital records, reducing the recorded area from 50 kanals and 2 marlas to 18 kanals and 15 marlas and changing its location. At the same time, the area under another khasra number allegedly increased substantially.Seeking a high-level probe, Chaudhary accused the suspects of deliberately altering digital records to facilitate an illegal transfer of ownership.Rani Inderjeet Kaur denied the allegations, calling them baseless and politically motivated. She maintained that a technical error during the property ID generation process led to the confusion and said neither document tampering nor any attempt to grab land had taken place. Police said the matter was under investigation and further action would be taken on the basis of findings.
