JAISALMER: A man was brutally attacked by his relatives in Panche Ka Tala village, under the Nachna police station limits in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district, on Saturday evening.The assailants allegedly crossed all limits of brutality by severing the victim’s nose and ear with a sharp weapon before beating him with sticks, leaving his right arm and leg fractured and critically injured.The victim, identified as Dayam Khan, son of Mohammad Khan and a resident of Panche Ka Tala (Chak 5 KRM), was found lying in a pool of blood after the attackers fled. Hearing his screams, nearby villagers rushed to the spot and informed the police.Nachna Station House Officer (SHO) Sumer Dan said the injured man was taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Nachna, where he received primary treatment before being referred to a higher medical centre in Jodhpur due to the severity of his injuries.According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Mohammad Khan, the attack was carried out by relatives identified as Aziz Khan, Nazir Khan, Pisaran, Baksu Khan, along with several others. The complainant alleged that the accused arrived at the victim’s farm armed with sticks and knives over an old family dispute and assaulted him before mutilating him with a knife.Based on the complaint, Nachna police registered a case under Sections 115(2), 126(2), 118(2), and 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).The SHO said that two persons, including the main accused Aziz Khan, have been detained and are being questioned. During preliminary interrogation, Aziz Khan allegedly told police that the victim had been casting improper intentions toward his wife despite repeated warnings, which led to the violent confrontation.Police said the investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken based on the findings.
