Guwahati: Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Monday urged residents to stay alert as IMD forecast more rain for Guwahati.The India Meteorological Department predicted moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, in Guwahati and adjoining areas over the next two to three days. The forecast follows a heavy rain warning issued last Friday and comes after two days of showers disrupted normal life across the city.ASDMA advised govt offices to allow employees to leave early to avoid being stranded amid worsening weather conditions.“Moderate to heavy rainfall across the city and adjacent areas may aggravate waterlogging, flooding, flash floods, slow vehicular movement, and increase the risk of localised landslides in vulnerable pockets,” the ASDMA statement read.ASDMA said it was monitoring the situation closely, and emergency response systems were placed on alert.
