Guwahati: Following the death of 22-year-old Nimisha Thakuria, a Gauhati University student, the district administration has sealed the homestay where she and her alleged lover stayed, after police cited irregularities related to the case.The homestay, Rudra’s Kitchen, came under scrutiny after her death on Saturday. Police also questioned three employees and the owner on Sunday.DCP (West) Balin Deuri said the two had visited the same homestay five more times this month and were accommodated without identity verification. “The owner had rented out the homestay to a person, name Jayanta Saki for around Rs 1,30,000 per month,” Deuri said.He said action would be taken against those linked to the homestay if the investigation finds violations or connections to the case. “Everyone at the homestay will be arrested if necessary,” he said.Deuri said details could not be disclosed due to the ongoing investigation, but police were examining all angles, including whether anyone else was involved. “We have learnt that a friend of Ali had stayed in their room that day, and that aspect is being looked into as well,” he said.Ashiq Ali is in Azara police custody and is being interrogated.
