Lucknow: Cracking down on delays in the disposal of pending revenue cases, the state govt has suspended four tehsildars and one naib tehsildar and initiated disciplinary proceedings against them. The action follows chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent directive to ensure timely disposal of revenue court cases and fix accountability for negligence.The CM had recently conducted a high-level review of pending revenue cases across Uttar Pradesh and expressed concern over delays in resolving matters affecting farmers and citizens.According to commissioner and secretary, Board of Revenue, Kanchan Verma, scrutiny revealed that the disposal of pending cases by some officers was unsatisfactory despite repeated directions to expedite hearings and clear the backlog.Those suspended include tehsildars Pawan Kumar Singh, Atul Harsh, Hareram Yadav and Anand Ojha of Khalilabad in Sant Kabir Nagar, along with naib tehsildar Vivek Kumar Singh. Board of Revenue has also begun departmental proceedings against all five officers under the relevant service rules.
