Guwahati: A forest guard was injured in a rhino attack at Kaziranga National Park on Saturday, the day the park reopened to tourists after its annual monsoon break.According to a forest department official, the incident took place near the Bhaichamari Forest Camp under the Bagori Forest Range, where the guard was deployed on duty. The injured guard was identified as Pradip Baruah.The official said Baruah came into contact with the rhino while carrying out his duties in the area.“He sustained injuries in the attack and was subsequently taken to Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital for treatment. He is currently under observation, and further treatment will be provided based on the doctors’ advice,” the official said.Forest guards had been deployed across the park to ensure the safety and smooth movement of visitors after it reopened following the monsoon break. No tourist was injured in the incident.
