Margao: After Congress’ national president Mallikarjun Kharge gave a green signal during his visit to Goa earlier this week for the state unit to stitch an alliance, GPCC president Girish Chodankar on Thursday said discussions with AAP and RG over a possible opposition alliance ahead of the 2027 assembly elections are expected to be held within the next two days.On the status of talks with GFP, Chodankar clarified that since GFP had itself announced the suspension of alliance discussions, Congress would wait for the regional outfit to signal when it was ready to resume negotiations. “Let GFP tell us when it is ready for talks. We will wait for it to take a call,” he said, indicating that the ball was in GFP’s court.Kharge had told senior Congress functionaries that they should take the lead in forging an alliance and that any differences that may crop up later would be resolved.
