Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday announced a series of appointments in various state-level commissions, boards, and local market committees. Mann shared the information on his X account.The AAP govt has named Kammikar Singh as a member of the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes and appointed Sukhjeet Singh Dhaliwal as the vice-chairman of the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA).In local administrative leadership, Sarabjot Singh Dhanjal has been appointed as the chairman of the Amritsar Improvement Trust, while Sanjeev Chaudhary has been designated as the chairman of the District Planning Board in Shaheed Bhagat Singh (SBS) Nagar.Gopal Singh has been appointed as the AAP halka in charge for the Bathinda rural assembly constituency.In addition to these appointments, Mann announced the selection of chairpersons for 17 market committees throughout the state. These appointments cover Phillaur, Jagraon, Bhulath, Mehatpur, Ajnala, Dera Baba Nanak, Dinanagar, Majitha, Qadian, Khamano, Sadiq, Nihal Singhwala, Bhadson, Bhawanigarh, Abohar, Barnala, and Panje Ke Uttar.An AAP functionary said the appointments were made following a review by the chief minister’s office.The AAP representative added that the fresh appointments were aimed at streamlining the governance framework and reinforcing the administration’s outreach at the grassroots level.The CM urged the appointees to dedicate themselves to the progress of the state and serve the people with integrity.
