Chennai: A 45-year-old man employed as a supervisor at a private steel company has lodged a complaint saying he was robbed of ₹18.8 lakh by four unidentified men at knifepoint in Korattur on Saturday.According to police, Ranjith Kumar, a resident of MMDA Colony in Arumbakkam, works as a supervisor at a private steel company in Korattur. On Saturday, the company owner, Umar Farooq, 40, asked him to collect ₹18.8 lakh from the latter’s brother in Padi.Ranjith said that while he was returning to the company on his two-wheeler, four men on two motorcycles intercepted him on 2nd Main Road in TNHB Colony, threatened him with a knife and fled with the cash. Ranjith lodged a complaint with the Korattur police. Further investigation is on.
