Chandigarh: The Chandigarh State Transport Authority (STA) has suspended the aggregator licence of Indsystems IT Pvt Ltd, operating as Indrive, for six months with immediate effect from Aug 10, barring the cab and bike-taxi service from operating in the city during the period.In a public notice issued by STA secretary Nitish Singla, PCS, the company has been directed not to operate cab or bike-taxi services within the jurisdiction of UT Chandigarh during the suspension period.The order also directs vehicle owners and drivers associated with Indrive not to attach or operate their cabs or bike taxis under the company and not to accept ride bookings through the Indrive application in Chandigarh.The STA has warned that strict action will be taken against operators violating the order. Vehicles found operating in violation will be challaned and impounded, according to the notice.The suspension is likely to affect drivers using the platform to offer app-based cab and bike-taxi services in the city.
