AMBALA: The death toll in the collapse of an under-construction three-storey building in Dhulkote, Ambala City, rose to six on Monday after rescuers recovered two more bodies from the debris.The deceased were identified as Malkit Singh of Dangdehri village in Lalru, Punjab, and Ramji Das of Sadopur village, Ambala. Of the six victims, two were from Ambala, two from Punjab and two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh.Ambala SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat said the rescue operation concluded around 5am. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.Haryana minister Anil Vij, who visited injured workers at Civil Hospital, directed the DGP to constitute an SIT to probe the collapse. Three workers remain hospitalised, while the others have been discharged. “We will not spare the guilty and every responsible person will face action as per law,” Vij said.Police registered an FIR against Jaggi Builder, property owner Shri Pal Rana and others under Sections 105, 110, 289 and 290 of the BNS.According to the FIR, workers were allegedly made to work without adequate safety equipment, the building had four-inch walls and the roof slab was opened before the required time.The collapse occurred around 3pm on September 27 while workers were casting the third-floor roof slab. Several workers were trapped under the debris.
