Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh marked the International Day of Yoga with statewide events on Sunday.At Lok Bhavan in Itanagar, governor KT Parnaik and health minister Biyuram Wahge participated in a session where Parnaik called IDY a global recognition of India’s civilisational wisdom. He said yoga, now practised worldwide, offers a simple, affordable and sustainable tool for preventive healthcare.CM Pema Khandu took part in celebrations at Jang alongside schoolchildren, the Army, CAPF, BRO personnel, and common citizens.A large number of personnel from the ITBP and Arunachal Pradesh Police, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, and officials from Lok Bhavan and the health department performed various yoga asanas in accordance with the common yoga protocol prescribed by the ministry of Ayush.
