Surat: Nearly 1,200 registered Ayurveda and Unani practitioners from South Gujarat are expected to participate in a one-day state-level conference here on Sunday, where experts and policymakers will discuss research, diagnosis, disease management and developments in the Ayush sector.The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), in association with the Gujarat Council of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine, has organised ‘GCAU Vande Ayucon-3’ for registered Ayurveda and Unani doctors from the South Gujarat zone.Union jal shakti minister C R Patil, Gujarat deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi and state health minister Praful Pansheriya will attend the conference and address participants.Key speakers include NCISM (Delhi) Board of Ethics and Registration president Dr Sushrut Kanoujiya, MARBISM president Dr Mukul Patel, Gujarat Ayush director Dr Jayesh Parmar and Gujarat Ayurved University vice-chancellor Dr Mansi Deshpande.SGCCI president Ashok Jirawala said it was a matter of pride that an industrial city like Surat was hosting a large gathering of Ayurveda and Unani practitioners. He said that alongside industrial growth, strengthening community health remained equally important.SGCCI vice-president Raviraj Desai said special CME sessions would focus on modern research, advanced diagnosis and Ayurvedic management of complex diseases. He added that expert officials would also provide guidance on the Ayush Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR).Dr Jignesh Patel, president of GCAU, said expert speakers would share insights into Ayurveda and Unani medicine. He said participants would gain knowledge that could help improve their professional efficiency and benefit society.
