Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday pushed for faster execution of key irrigation, road and educational infrastructure projects in his Kodangal constituency, setting timelines for major works and warning officials against delays as he conducted an extensive review and inspection tour across the region.Reviewing irrigation projects in Kodangal, senior officials briefed the chief minister on the progress of the Makthal-Narayanpet-Kodangal lift irrigation project. Officials said work on the pump house was being expedited in accordance with directions issued during the previous review meeting.Revanth directed officials to invite tenders for phase II works at the earliest and submit complete details of the annual budget required to accelerate the project.He also instructed officials to complete pending land acquisition. According to officials, phase I works are targeted for completion by Dec 2027, while phase II is scheduled for completion by Oct 2028.The chief minister also reviewed roads and buildings department works in the constituency and directed officials to speed up road connectivity, construction of buildings and bridges, and other infrastructure projects.He ordered that every thanda in the constituency be provided road access and warned of immediate action against officials found negligent in road construction works. Revanth also called for robust plans to build culverts and bridges across village streams and suggested designing such structures on the lines of check dams.At the Hakimpet education hub, the chief minister inspected the Young India Integrated Residential School, govt medical, nursing, physiotherapy and paramedical colleges, the 430-bed hospital and other facilities under construction.He directed officials to ensure coordination among executing agencies, continuously monitor quality and technical standards, and establish water harvesting wells to prevent water stagnation. He also called for plans to utilise harvested rainwater for landscaping purposes.In Maddur, Revanth inspected the govt degree college and the under-construction social welfare residential school.The chief minister later travelled to Kodangal by road and stayed there overnight. On Saturday, he is scheduled to hold a detailed review meeting on the progress of development projects across the constituency.
