KURUKSHETRA: A woman accused of killing her husband allegedly slit open his abdomen in a 35-cm-long cut before trying to stuff his protruding intestines into a plastic bag, police said on Tuesday.Rajesh, 40, was found dead with multiple deep wounds at a rented accommodation near Raj Palace on Pehowa Road on Saturday.The post-mortem reportedly also found that a substantial portion of his liver and his right kidney were missing.According to police, Vimla Devi allegedly used a large knife to make a cut of about 35cm from below Rajesh’s chest towards his private parts.Two smaller knives were allegedly used to inflict additional wounds on either side, forming an arrow-like pattern.Police said the protruding intestines were allegedly placed in a plastic bag kept near the body.

Landlord allegedly saw her with intestines

Landlord Rinku told police that he heard the couple shouting at around 5pm on Saturday.When he reached the terrace, he allegedly found Rajesh lying in a pool of blood and saw Vimla attempting to put his intestines into a plastic bag.Vimla allegedly panicked after seeing the landlord and jumped from the terrace.She suffered a spinal fracture and was admitted to LNJP Hospital.Doctors said her condition has since improved.An MRI scan will be conducted to assess the spinal injury and determine further treatment.

Three knives recovered

Police recovered three knives of different sizes from the scene and are investigating the sequence of events and the motive behind the killing.Rajesh, a resident of Dhampur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district, had been living in Kurukshetra with Vimla for around a year.He worked as a water-supply employee with a company.Police are also examining a possible occult-practices angle, though the exact motive has not yet been established.A police official said the sequence of events and the motive would become clearer after Vimla is interrogated following her discharge from hospital.(With agency inputs)
