Bathinda: In the wake of a recent video showing the newly constructed road from Kotbhara to Ramgarh Bhundar village in Bathinda being peeled off with bare hands, Punjab public works (B&R) minister Harbhajan Singh ETO inspected the site on Sunday.The Quality Control Centre, Patiala, also collected a sample of the road. After the inspection, ETO said the road had been constructed in accordance with prescribed standards. However, he said if any deficiency was found in its construction, strict action would be taken against the contractor concerned.He said the viral video clip was fake and part of the opposition’s propaganda against the state govt. The minister said that on Saturday, he had challenged Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal and SAD functionary Bikram Singh Majithia to remain present during his visit to the site on Sunday. He accused both of spreading rumours.ETO, who was accompanied by Maur MLA Sukhvir Singh Maisarkhana, also inspected the nearby Maisarkhana–Tittarsar Sahib road and expressed satisfaction with the quality of the road work.
