Ahmedabad: Gujarat State Pharmacy Council has issued an advisory for students and parents seeking admission to pharmacy courses.According to the guidelines, students must have passed Class XII Science from a govt-recognised board, with Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Mathematics, to be eligible for diploma or degree pharmacy courses. The council has made clear that students who passed from unrecognised boards will not be eligible for registration as pharmacists, even after completing their studies. With competition for pharmacy admissions intensifying following the declaration of Class XII results, students have been advised to carefully check whether their chosen college is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Taking admission to an institution without PCI approval could lead to serious consequences. An official list of PCI-approved pharmacy colleges is available at www.pci.nic.in. For further guidance, students and parents can contact the Gujarat State Pharmacy Council office at the Civil Hospital campus in Asarwa.
