Jaipur: Chief Secretary V Srinivas Thursday reviewed the progress of PM Surya Ghar alongside PM-Kusum and the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model. He directed officials to expedite inspections under PM Surya Ghar and ensure timelines are met for ULA bids. The roadmap for providing daytime power to farmers by March 2027 was also discussed, with officials reporting that 26 districts already receive daytime supply.Despite Rajasthan’s position as the country’s solar leader, the state has struggled to convert this advantage into household-level adoption under PM Surya Ghar.By June 2026, Rajasthan installed 2315.60 MW rooftop solar systems, including projects under PM Surya Ghar Yojana, according to data from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). While significant, this placed the state behind Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, which have achieved higher installations.Officials said that Rajasthan’s solar dominance in large-scale projects and solar parks has not reflected in household adoption, which was slower. The review underscored the need for faster implementation, subsidy assurance and timely inspections to bridge the gap.The state has already announced an additional subsidy of Rs 17,000 above the subsidies provided by the MNRE. But the state has not given how much subsidy amount it has disbursed so far to the consumers.
